Ubud in October to December 2026: Weather, Prices & What To Book

Shoulder-season Ubud is the best-value Bali window of 2026. Real weather expectations, December surcharges explained, and how flight pricing changes by Australian city.

October through December is the quietly perfect window for Ubud. The crowds from the July–August peak have gone, the rice terraces are green, and hotel rates sit well below Christmas pricing right up until mid-December.

Weather honestly: October averages 31C days with short afternoon showers. November brings the first proper wet-season build-up — heavy but brief downpours, usually mid-afternoon. December is warm and humid with more consistent rain, which is exactly why the jungle looks the way it does in every photo you've saved.

Pricing reality by date: October and November hold the same base rate. Early December (1–14) carries a modest festive-lead surcharge of around A$200 per person, and late December (15–31) jumps roughly A$400 per person as Christmas and New Year demand hits. Booking a November departure is the single easiest way to save money.

Flights by Australian city: Perth is genuinely cheaper than the east coast — often A$100 less than the Sydney fare. Melbourne and Brisbane sit around A$50 above Sydney pricing. That gap is real and worth building your dates around if you're flexible on origin.

What to actually book in Ubud: a sunrise Mount Batur trek, a private driver day covering Tegallalang and Tirta Empul, a proper spa afternoon rather than a A$15 street massage, and one long dinner in Ubud centre. Skip the crowded swing photo stops unless you specifically want the shot.

Where to stay: Ubud splits into jungle-valley resorts (quiet, infinity pools, 10 minutes from town) and central Ubud hotels (walkable to restaurants and the market). Valley resorts photograph better; central hotels save you A$50 a day in driver fees.

Our 7-night Novotel Ubud package starts from A$1,474 per person with open calendar dates through to 31 December 2026, city-specific flight pricing, and optional private driver add-ons. See /bali-ubud for details.
